Our Story
It started with a coffee shop.
For April Spence, The Dwelling Place is the continuation of a story that began generations ago.
In 1974, April's mother was invited to a Christian coffee shop where she encountered Jesus. Her father soon followed, and faith became the foundation of their family.
April grew up surrounded by ministry, helping in her church's bookstore and experiencing firsthand what can happen when people create space for community, conversation and the presence of God.
Years later, after building a family with her husband Jesse and eventually being called from Pennsylvania to Delaware, an old dream began stirring again: create a place where people could gather over coffee, open Scripture, meet with friends, share their gifts and simply dwell with Him.
"A place for community, love, and acceptance. A place to talk about Jesus. A place to dwell with Him."
The Dwelling Place is that dream brought to life — built to serve Milford, support the community, encourage one another and reflect the love of Jesus in everything they do.
